General Terms & Conditions

Use of this website/booking engine signifies your agreement to these terms and conditions. Should you disagree with any portion of these terms, you are advised not to utilize this website/booking engine.

Prices are stated in US Dollars. Clients are responsible for covering all associated fees for both local and international bank transfers, as well as any commissions on credit card transactions, if applicable.

Before proceeding with a booking, it is imperative that you thoroughly review these terms. Engaging with this website, or corresponding in writing with Wilpattu Safaris for travel planning, affirms that you are at least 18 years old and that you unreservedly agree to these conditions.

It is expected that all information you provide will be both truthful and precise, and it will be handled with confidentiality.

Pet Policy

No pets are allowed within and around the national park due to safety and environmental concerns.

Final Payment

Single-Day Safaris – Full payment must be settled at the end of the safari.

Bookings & Reservations for Overnight Packages – Should there be any outstanding balance for your travel arrangements, it must be settled by you at the first meeting point.

Payment Schedule

For bookings made within 0 to 30 days before the arrival date, payment in full is required.

For reservations made more than 30 days before the arrival date, a minimum deposit of 40% of the total amount is needed. The remaining balance must be paid 30 days before arrival.

We hold the authority to cancel your booking if payments are not made within the specified timeframe.

Amendments and Cancellations

We commit to making every reasonable effort to deliver the travel arrangements as confirmed, yet we reserve the right to make changes to the travel arrangements, provided that we notify you in advance.

Cancellation Policy

To cover the administrative and logistical expenses we incur in managing a booking, as well as to recoup a portion of the opportunity cost, the following cancellation fees will be applied:

• Cancellation made within 14 – 28 Days of the pre-agreed arrival date – 50% of the tour cost will be charged by Wilpattu Safaris.
• Cancellation made within 7 – 14 Days of the pre-agreed arrival date – 75% of the tour cost will be charged by Wilpattu Safaris.
• Cancellation made within Less than 7 Days of the pre-agreed arrival date – No Refund will be made by Wilpattu Safaris.

Wilpattu Safaris should receive the cancellation in writing via email.

Cancellation Policy for Special Offers

Cancellations made on special offers are non-refundable. Please check the offer details when making reservations on our special offers.

Date Changes

Date changes will be done subject to availability. Date changes may or may not carry changes in the original costing due to the nature of availability. Upon cancellation, the cancellation fees mentioned above will be applicable.

Cancellation by Wilpattu Safaris

Your booking is of utmost importance to us, and we will take all necessary precautions to meet your expectations. Nonetheless, we retain the right to cancel the booking due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Should such a situation arise, we will ensure the refund of all payments made by you. Additionally, where feasible, we will propose an alternative tour of similar type and quality for your consideration. Please note that Wilpattu Safaris is not responsible for any incidental costs that you may incur while making arrangements for a tour that is later canceled by us, as per these terms and conditions.

Our liabilities & limitations

All provided itineraries serve as sample outlines, designed to offer a general overview of the potential schedule. Various factors including weather conditions, road states, and the physical abilities of participants, among others, may necessitate adjustments to the itinerary either before departure or during the tour. We hold the right to modify any planned schedule to ensure the safety, comfort, and overall welfare of tour participants.

We are not liable for any program delays or alterations nor for any expenses incurred as a result of natural hazards, flight cancellations, transport breakdowns, adverse weather conditions, health issues, landslides, political unrest, or any unforeseen events beyond our control.

We also disclaim responsibility for any loss, injury, damage to individuals or property, or related consequences arising directly or indirectly from incidents such as fires, accidents, machinery and equipment failures, conflicts, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, health epidemics, regulations of the Sri Lankan customs department, or any other circumstances out of our reach.

Our insurance policy does not cover costs associated with accidents, illnesses, theft, or other reasons, except in cases of proven negligence on our part. It is recommended that visitors arrange their own insurance in their home country. Please be aware that all personal belongings and luggage remain at the owner’s risk throughout the tour.
We take responsibility for delivering holidays that match the descriptions provided and ensuring that the services we are obligated to offer meet a reasonable standard.

Should it become necessary to substitute accommodations or services, we will make every effort to provide alternatives of equal or superior quality.

Our Nature and Adventure Experiences

We adhere to policies that prioritize community involvement, environmental sustainability, cultural appropriateness, and fair pricing, all of which we have developed to align with national and international standards of acceptability.

Booking (Reservation) Disputes

In the event of a dispute related to a booking with Wilpattu Safaris, we reserve the exclusive right to cancel the reservation. We will notify the guest of this cancellation through email. The amount paid for the reservation will be refunded in full, except for any applicable bank charges, to the guest’s credit card.

Health, Passport, and Visas

It falls under your duty to make sure that you and all other members of your group receive the appropriate vaccinations and medical consultations before your trip. Likewise, you should ensure that you and your travel companions possess valid and correct passports and visas and that you have met all other necessary travel requirements before your holiday begins. While we are happy to offer recommendations if you need assistance with this matter, we cannot be held accountable for any issues arising from traveling without the necessary travel documents.

International and Domestic Air Booking

It is your responsibility to reconfirm your flight bookings. Since travel arrangements might be scheduled to connect with both international and domestic air flights, you or the travelers must keep us informed about flight times and numbers.

Travel Insurance

We strongly advise you to secure personal travel insurance for every member of your group at the time of booking. You must ensure that the insurance coverage you acquire is comprehensive and suitable for your needs. By accepting your booking, we will assume that you have confirmed obtaining such insurance.

Breakages and Damages

Any breakages, losses, or damages caused by you or any member of your party during your stay at the accommodation are your responsibility. You must either repair the damage or make full payment to the hotel before departure, in addition to indemnifying us against any losses, damages, or claims directed at us as a result.

Behavior

You are responsible for adhering to all pertinent regulations related to air carriage or any other means of transport during your holiday, as well as regulations concerning your stay. If, in the view of our suppliers/service providers and/or guide representative, your behavior is deemed disruptive or poses a risk of distress, injury, or danger to other clients, our staff, or any third party, your reservation may be terminated. In such cases, we will not be responsible for covering any costs or claims that arise.
